David A. Hatch, Partner
Practice Areas
David Hatch received his B.A. from the University of Michigan in 1998, where he was recognized with class honors. He received his J.D. with honors from the University of Texas at Austin in 2002.
Mr. Hatch is a partner in the Business Department of Hooper, Lundy & Bookman. Mr. Hatch’s practice involves a broad range of business, transactional and regulatory aspects of the healthcare industry, including practice integration, asset purchases, mergers and acquisitions, healthcare joint ventures, healthcare fraud and abuse compliance and tax-exempt compliance. Mr. Hatch’s clients include physicians and physician groups, for-profit and nonprofit hospitals, diagnostic centers, ambulatory surgery centers, durable medical equipment companies, mental health providers, pharmaceutical companies, medical device and prosthetic distributors and other health care providers.
Among his regulatory experience, Mr. Hatch has counseled clients on compliance with the federal and state anti-kickback and self-referral laws, pharmacy laws, regulation of ambulatory surgery centers and the corporate practice of medicine prohibition. Mr. Hatch has also counseled numerous tax-exempt entities with respect to complying with IRS and California statutes and regulations and in seeking tax-exempt status. Mr. Hatch has advised business entities at all stages of development, including start-up, formation, offering, operational phases and through change of control and dissolution events.
Mr. Hatch was named a “Southern California Rising Star” for 2009 and 2010 by Super Lawyers Magazine, and was featured in the July issues of Los Angeles Magazine for 2009 and 2010.
Mr. Hatch joined the firm in October 2006. Prior to that time, Mr. Hatch was a corporate attorney with the Los Angeles office of Jones Day.
